Check out this post on another blog about Stewardship Voting. It has to do with the post from Christian about Chuck Baldwin.
I will get into specifics later, but Christians should use their minds, as well as their hearts. A 7th grader could see that many of the points made in the post about Baldwin are constitutionally impossible.
The scariest part of the post follows:
I will use the constitutional power of the Presidency to deny funds to protect abortion clinics. Either way, legalized abortion ends when I take office. “
What do Baldwin and his followers mean by this? What does he mean “deny funds to protect abortion clinics? Does that mean it is OK to commit violence with no police reprisal? How Christian is that?
This seems to go way over the line from a passioned opposition to abortion, which is reasonable, all the way to an unhinged, ignorant view of the political landscape, and some very basic facts about the functioning of our constitution and government. Very odd from the candidate of the Constitution Party.
An election is a choice. Choices that Christians face require Christian stewardship. Christian stewardship demands prayerful and thoughtful decision-making. If a Christian takes the time to become informed about our government and the candidates, they will quickly realize that a vote for Baldwin is very poor stewardship.
This is an interesting email I received. I don’t agree with it but I thought I’d post it so everyone could see it.
Below is an article with some facts about John McCain. Please make every effort to read it.
I was reading “Oh waiter! One order of crow!” yesterday, a book by Jeff Greenfield about the 2000 election, and he said something that struck me, it sounded so much like this year’s election.
“Whether consciously or not, they [the Bush campaign] were resting their hopes for Bush on a conviction that the first impression he offered-a steady, reliable, centered but not self-centered man- would carry them through and that voters would decide based on who they wanted the next president to be. Just as surely, the Gore partisans believed that if voter went to the polls thinking about what they wanted the next president to do, they would decide this pleasant young man from Texas was simply not up to the tasks they wanted accomplished”
This sounds a lot like this year’s election. if the people vote based on who they want to be president, they will choose Barack Obama, if they vote on what they want the president to do, then they will choose John McCain. Unfortunately, the voters decided based on who they wanted the president to be in the 2000 election. Most likely, that will not change. The only way for John McCain to win is if the voters decide they want a president who has experience instead of one who is merely pleasant.
Chant from the John McCain rally this morning in Concord, NC.
I’m so happy this thing is over. That was painful to watch.
I’m watching this several minutes behind everyone else…we’re watching it at my aunts house and we’re about 15 minutes behind.
McCain is missing a lot of opportunities. My dad keeps on getting up and walking in circles calling McCain an idiot under his breath. I hope he can step up with the aggression before this ends.
Mr. Jo is getting a lot of attention.
never looks at Obama.
