Yes, Gingrich would be the best opponent to Obama debate. However, I think it is very unlikely they will actually debate. Paul does not have a chance. I don't believe.

I hate that Santorum dropped out, but I am wondering and hoping Ginrich will take advantage of this and maybe even make a major comeback on Romney. I think that Ginrich would be a good match in the debate vs President Obama.

Yes, I wish he would have, too. I wonder if this means Gingrich and Paul will have more of a chance or if it will mean it is only Romney in the race now.

Comment on Is Santorum Worth a Long Primary? by Samuel Barker

First off I'm not comparing candidates. I am comparing the pros and cons of choosing Romney now, instead of hoping that Santorum will pull through over the course of a long primary that would probably result with Romney winning anyway. When I said "more logical" I was referring to the choices before us. It's more practical to choose Romney now. It's more passionate, and American to hope for Santorum. Romney is also "more electable" based on all the polls I have seen so far.

Gingrich? Well Gingrich and Santorum draw votes from the same place. The more conservative voters. Based on what we have seen so far, if we get a more conservative candidate, it will probably be Santorum.

Samuel, What happened to Newt Gingrich? I agree with the fact that we need a candidate soon so that they can prepare for the election. I personally think that Mitt Romney will win the primary but still have not given up hope for Santorum.

Why do you think that Romney is the "more logical and electable candidate"?

The Republicans have a habit of nominating the runner-up from the last election. McCain was runner up in 2000. He lost in 2008. Romney was runner-up in 2008 and so he looks like he should win the nomination in 2012. Problem is that he can lose and just might do that. Too many believe that Obama is almost unbeatable and so we have to choose someone who will appeal to the middle, the moderate. Recipe for loss. A strong conservative offering a contrast to the socialist Obama gives the people a real choice. How is Romney that different than Obama? RomneyCare was the model for ObamaCare. While Romeny says that he would never impose such a thing on the whole country, he still thinks it was a good idea in Massechusetts. Really? If the real problem is too much government interference then why would more of the same fix the problem? I want more freedom, not more government boots on my neck, tag teaming me from morning to night in ways both large and small. From light bulbs to CAFE to how much water the TOILET uses. WHO GAVE THESE PEOPLE THE AUTHORITY FOR ALL OF THIS? Nobody did. They just seized it and have refused to let it go and we have not done what was necessary to take it back.

We get the government we deserve and we have tyranny because we have accepted tyranny. Is it too late to get our freedom back? I pray that it isn't.

To anyone who has followed the continuing saga of Barack Obama and the question of his eligibility to be President of the United States, it has been a frustrating three years. I think it has been convincingly demostrated that Obama is ineligible to be president. That brings up the question of whether he is President today? Can a vote of the people amend the Constitution and legitimately place in office an individual that does not meet the requirements for being president as they are listed in the Constitution? I would say and emphatic NO!

So with a Constitutional crisis hanging over our heads, what do we do about it? Should we just redouble the efforts to make sure he does not end up being "reelected" or do we push on and work to get him removed from the White House and put into jail where he belongs?

Ineligible. Forged birth certificate. Fraudulent Selective Service registration card.

Harper,
Romney may not fit the south's view on issues such as morals. However, southern voters make up a small percentage of the U.S.A as a whole. Right now, it is looking very good for Romney. Don't you think the south would rather vote for Romney than Obama?

P.S. Of course I personally believe that a combination would be the best answer, but you cannot put two people together to get the perfect nominee.

A combination of all of the above might be the best answer. I think Romney simply doesn't fit the mold for the strong conservative that Southerners would like to see as their nominee.
